Thornton Park, Main Street Science World
Friday July 22, 2016: 12pm – 6:30pm
Saturday July 23, 2016: 12pm- 9:00pm
This fest aims to showcase the city’s vibrant and thriving African community while promoting the oneness of all ethnicities and communities. Get an eyeful of everything from art, DJs, live bands, and fashion to Black Lives Matter speakers and much more. There’s plenty for the whole family to see and learn.
Admission: $15 in advance, $20 at door, kids 10 and under FREE
Saturday, July 16, 2016, 12pm-10pm
Taco Fest is an annual music and food festival celebrating tacos and music in Vancouver. It’s a family friendly all-day music experience outdoors, and all ages are welcome. Taste test a variety of food vendors with tacos of every kind, plus a delicious range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. There will be icy treats, too! You can also display your culinary courage with the Step into the Ring Of Fire Taco eating contest! Groove to 10 hours of live rock music with some cool local bands, too.
Admission: Adults – $9, Seniors – $7, Children – $4, plus a family ticket discount
Van Dusen Gardens
Sunday, July 17, 2016, 12pm-3pm
Get in on a family fun day at the beautiful VanDusen Botanical Garden. Not only is there 55 acres of gorgeous greenery and mazes to explore, your kids can also sing and dance to a live concert by Will Stroet, star of the musical TV series Will’s Jams on Kids’ CBC. There will also be garden-themed arts and crafts, lawn games like giant Jenga, plus yummy treats and more. It’s a free concert and activities all included with regular garden admission.
