Winter in Vancouver can get busy! With Christmas, Hanukkah, year-end wrap ups and holiday parties, there’s barely time for anything else. But spending time with your spouse is worth carving out the time for – so plan it early and schedule it in! We’ve rounded up 6 winter date night spots that are great for reconnecting.
6 winter date night spots around Vancouver
Grouse Mountain Peak of Christmas
Do you and your partner love snow? Then, Peak of Christmas at Grouse is your place to be! Don’t skip the light walk among the trees and Blue Grouse lake. Or the magical sleigh ride. For something more thrilling, check out their snow carpet sliding zone! They also have skating under the stars at their 8,000 square foot rink – lots of room for you and your honey.
Glow is back and it’s bigger than ever! With new attractions and a brand new theme (Glow Around The World), Glow is a fun place for date night. If you missed last year’s, there is live musical performances, interactive light displays (1000’s and 1000’s!), as well as festive drinks and delicious eats from local food trucks. Snap away at each of the different light gardens. Don’t forget to grab a photo with Santa – don’t worry, the kids won’t get too jealous.
Vancouver Christmas Market
Meet your sweetie for a smooch in their twinkling Walk-in Christmas Tree, a wander down Lover’s Lane or seal your love at the Love Lock exhibit. There’s tons of romantic fun throughout the market and even a glittering Instagram frame with a view of the North Shore. Go hungry because you’ll want to try everything, right down to old world treats and mulled wine! Snap photos at the carousal, lighted Christmas pyramid then head to the Wunderbar for a cocktail. Did you know…proposals have been known to take place in this majestic fairlyland.
Love Granville Island during the day with the kids? Well, you’ll also love it at night too! Right next to the Seawall, the stunning view is not to be missed. There is food, shopping, and music and lots of twinkling lights. Stop by Granville Island Brewery, then grab a sweet treat from Lee’s Doughnuts and do some people watching while you both connect without the kiddos. The Improv Centre is a fun activity and if you are a dog mama, be sure to stop by the Pet Treatery!
Karaoke Christmas Lights Trolley Tour
Do you love singing? Do you like Christmas lights? Combine the two and you’ve got this unique event, the Karaoke Christmas Lights Trolley Tour. Snuggle up with your honey and give those pipes a workout! The tour travels through the downtown lights, Hycroft, VanDusen Gardens, Canuck Place, English Bay, and ends at Bright Nights at Stanley Park, major fundraiser for The BC Professional Fire Fighter’s Burn Fund.
Aurora Winter Festival
The ultimate magic is at the Aurora Winter Festival. Mystical themed, its village is complete with four different worlds, magical characters, performances, a glorious skating rink and their iconic ferris wheel, is not one to be missed! They also have the first tube slide in Vancouver at 200 feet long! It is easily accessible, just steps away from Stadium Station.
