Have you taken the kids back to the dentist since the pandemic hit? If no, then it’s probably time to reacquaint them with the dental chair. We asked PDG Dentistry to give us some insights into the “new normal” and how they are keeping clients safe.
The dental community has been through a lot over the last few months, and PDG Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics is excited to be open and serving the community with high-quality service in a safe environment.
Their offices follow infection control recommendations made by local and national health agencies, and are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued in light of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Five ways PDG is keeping its patients safe
1. Communication & screening before your visit
PDG contacts you before your appointment for a preliminary screening and again including a temperature check when you visit in person.
2. Super clean environment
PDG adheres to WorkSafeBC guidelines with respect to the two-step cleaning routine (clean and disinfect) of all their high traffic areas throughout the day.
3. Infection Control Training and PPE
All PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and disinfection protocols have been upgraded and staff had also gone through Infection Control training. All clinical staff are required to wear gloves, surgical mask and eyewear (prescription or clinical grade).
4. Minimal distractions
For now, there are no magazines, children’s toys as those items are difficult to clean and disinfect. You will also see Plexi-glass in reception and limited people in the clinic.
5. Physical distancing
Appointments are staggered to allow for physical distancing between patients to avoid groupings in the reception area at any one time.
