New UBC Aquatic Centre makes a splash

There’s a new indoor pool in town, and the water is fine. The new UBC Aquatic Centre located next to the UBC bus loop, boasts three pools, a 34-person hot tub, lazy river, steam room, and sauna. From March 3 to 5, as part of their Grand Opening, they are hosting special events and family fun including an inflatable obstacle course and a movie night on Saturday.
Thursday, March 2
$5 swim (12 – 2pm) with Aquafit class (12:05 – 12:50pm): Enjoy the new facility at a discounted drop-in rate. An Aquafit class is included in the price of admission.
Friday, March 3
The first toonie ($2) swim! (7:30 – 10pm): Experience the new UBC Aquatic Centre for just $2. Admission includes access to all Aquatic Centre amenities, including lane swimming, hot tub, steam room, and sauna.
Sat. March 4
- Inflatable obstacle course playtime (1 – 4:30 pm): The debut of the Wibit inflatable obstacle course. For children ages 8 and up
- Toonie ($2) swim (4:30 – 10pm): Experience the new UBC Aquatic Centre for just $2. Admission includes access to all Aquatic Centre amenities, such as lane swimming, hot tub, steam room, and sauna.
- Finding Nemo Movie night (7:30 pm start): Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming. Pull up a pool noodle for showtime in the 50m pool!
Sunday, March 5
$5 public swim (1 – 6 pm): This public swim is open to all. Save on your drop-in admission fee and get access to all Aquatic Centre amenities, such as lane swimming, hot tub, steam room, and sauna.
