Bike and picnic at Mundy Park
Touted as the largest park in Coquitlam, there is something for everyone! The paved trails are perfect for walkers, cyclists and runners. It runs around two lakes, outdoor pool, disc golf area, lacrosse box, playground and picnic area. Fun fact: Scenes from the 2006 Danny DeVito/ Matthew Broderick film Deck the Halls were shot at Mundy Park.

Gym and ducks at Town Centre Park
There are outdoor exercise equipment, skatepark, tennis court, volleyball, water park, and running track. In addition to those there is also an air hockey table, table tennis and tons of seating for picnics! In warmer weather, there are performances in the new Amphitheatre. Take a cool down walk post sweat session to Lafarge Lake and watch the ducks! (free)

Watch a play at the Evergreen Cultural Centre
Known as Coquitlam’s theatre venue, you will find musical performances, plays fit for families. They also have fine arts classes for adults and children.

Explore a Heritage Home and make candles at the Coquitlam Heritage Museum at Mackin House
Mackin House is a 1920’s Edwardian home preserved with artifacts and furniture during that period. A tour is $5, which includes an activity such as butter making. They also showcase workshops and exhibits; the current exhibit is an exploration of 1920’s fashion. Their workshops (heritage crafts, ancient skills, cooking, book club) are perfect for anyone aged 4+.

Climb the Coquitlam Crunch or hike Minnekhada Regional Park
Both adults and kids can be found on these hikes. The Crunch is more intense whereas Minnekhada Park is a spectacular outing and runs flat with a few short, step areas that are fun for kids to climb. The view are views just stunning. (Free)
