Vancouver Mom: Genieve Burley

Genieve Burley is a Vancouver-based chiropractor and yoga instructor. Her chiropractic practice is located in Yaletown in a collaborative environment with physicians, psychologists and registered massage therapists. She also teaches at One Yoga in Gastown and at the Hot Box located in Wesbrook Village at UBC. She leads international teacher trainings and retreats and is an ambassador to several local brands that she is very proud of including Lululemon, Spud Delivery, The Float House and Nicole Bridger.

“My husband and I are blessed with two beautiful girls, Rhys (7) and Shyloh (5). We have a little Yorkie named Berkeley and two rescue bunnies named Coco and Thumper. We live in East Van near Fraser and 12th, and love our neighbourhood. I have a very busy life with chiro and yoga so the girls come with me on a lot of travel and adventures,” she said.

I love this little cafe full of gluten free and vegan baking. It’s a bright bakery with a little kids play area and great bathroom (all parents love good bathrooms).

Reminds me of summer in the 80s. During the weekdays you will find an outdoor old school wading pool, art activities, bikes and trikes, soccer field, playground and $1 hot dogs.

The Juice Truck is the original fresh press juice in Vancouver, the kids love ordering from the pink truck in Gastown and then heading over to see the Steamclock.

Jericho Beach Rabbits

We love to visit the little bunny briar at Jericho beach. You aren’t supposed to feed the bunnies…but just an FYI they love celery and kale over carrots.

Charm Nail Salon

I love to take my girls to this luminous nail salon in east van. They get top notch treatment with a sparkly polish change and Mommy can have some time for a pedicure. The girls are treated to well there.

We love this restaurant. Crayons and colouring pages, tomato soup and grilled cheese and strawberry lemonade. My kids love it and we can enjoy a glass of wine.
