Best of Vancouver: Yoga Studio Search

Vancouver and yoga studios go together sort of like Vancouver and sushi restaurants. Which is to say, you can’t throw a rock without hitting a yoga studio in some parts of the city. On top of that, January is Wellness Month here at Put those two things together, and it seemed only natural that our next Best of Vancouver feature should focus on finding the top yoga studio in the city.

I have been doing yoga in Vancouver for 16 years. I absolutely love that one year ago this February, Moksha Yoga East Vancouver moved into my East Vancouver neighborhood. Best studio ever!!! They have an amazing sense of community and by far the most environmentally friendly studio I have seen! Super trained, friendly and warm instructors (if not hot – it is a mostly a hot yoga studio ;)) They offer a variety of hot classes, community classes (they donate the funds to a new charity each month), Yin classes and a new pre-natal class as well… and growing more classes as they go…I can’t say enough about Moksha Yoga East Vancouver!

Dailey Method – there is a studio in White Rock (where I attend) and one in Dunbar Village (West 41st Ave). This program combines ballet barre work, core conditioning/muscle strengthening (pilates-type exercises), and yoga for the best workout I’ve ever had. They also have a discounted package for new moms (must be within 6 months of child birth). There’s incredible one-on-one attention, and a perfect balance of lengthening/stretching, and toning. Love it!
