Located right on the Seawall, this expansive and less crowded beach is perfect for a waterfront picnic with family and friends. It’s a designated quiet beach, so no amplified sound is allowed. There are volleyball courts, picnic tables, a concession and a swimming raft.

New Brighton Beach Park
Right by the Second Narrows Bridge and the PNE, this big, lesser-known park is kind of a hidden gem. There’s lots of grass, picnic tables, playground, outdoor pool, and a small strip of rocky beach.

Just a short drive from downtown, this unique West Van park is one of the best spots for a picnic in a forested and oceanside picnic. Watch scuba divers suit up and dive in as you enjoy the rocky oceanfront beauty. There’s swimming, hiking, washrooms, and more.

Panorama Park overlooks Deep Cove and has a beach, sitting areas, a play area for kids and plenty of inviting grass to throw a blanket on. You can watch the kayakers while you munch on your meal. Oh, and make sure you pick up fresh donuts at Honey’s before setting up your picnic!

Whether you prefer the steps by Robson Square or the fab new north plaza, an urban picnic may be just the ticket if you’re planning a downtown outing or a visit to the gallery. The central location offers great architectural views and well as first class people watching (think skateboarders, business people, tourists and protesters). Plus if you don’t feel like making lunch, there are always loads of food trucks at the ready.
