Affordable French Fashions? Mais, Oui, with Apricot Culotte

One of motherhood’s sweetest pleasures is seeing your baby all dressed up in a cute outfit.  For many of us moms, we buy lots of everyday play clothes at consignment or second-hand shops, with a few cute outfits for special occasions.  Apricot Culotte may just change that, however, with their brilliant concept to bring high-quality secondhand French fashions for babies and young toddlers to Canadian moms, all at a very affordable price.

Who is Behind Apricot Culotte?

Emilie Sarkissian came up with the idea for Apricot Culotte while on maternity leave with her first son, and made the decision to launch her business instead of going back to work.  Emilie says, “I always wanted to start my own business and came up with lots of ideas over the past years but nothing really felt right. While I was on maternity leave, I was talking to my mother and sister back in France and they were telling me how they were buying these super cute baby clothes second-hand. After discussing, we thought it would be a great idea to bring it to Canada. I am not sure if this idea was better than any other idea I had in the past, but for the first time I felt confident enough. I think having a baby had a lot to do with it. Motherhood is the hardest job I have ever had but I guess it gives you wings!”

Fun French Fashion for Everyday Baby Wear

When you think “French baby fashion” you might imagine expensive, luxurious things that are worn only for special occasions, but Apricot Culotte sells affordable, wearable baby clothing.  Emilie says, “As a mom, my number one priority is to make sure my baby is comfortable in the clothes he wears and that is definitely something we make sure of when picking the clothes on our store: comfort and quality with style!”  While Apricot Culotte does carry some designer brands such as Baby Dior and Kenzo, most of the clothes are suitable for everyday wear at the playground and in the sandbox.

Second-Hand Baby Clothes are Environmentally Friendly and Affordable

Apricot Culotte is perfect for environmentally-aware new moms who want to dress their babies in style for an affordable price.  The clothes they carry are mostly from size 0 to 2Y, with two different sections in the store, Second Hand and Designer Deals.  The second-hand clothes are all in excellent condition and are exclusively French brands, such as Petit Bateau, Jacadi and Catimini.  Pricing ranges from $5 for a Petit Bateau onesie to a cute party dress for $25.  The designer clothes are all at bargain prices, either end-of- season clothes or samples, with some French labels.  Apricot Culotte’s online shop is well designed for bargain-hunting mamas, and their clothes are all unique, stylish and cheap.  Vancouver moms can also choose to pick up their online orders to save on shipping costs.

Second-hand shopping is growing in popularity as more people choose to reduce the amount of waste that goes to the landfill.  Buying second-hand is also a more budget-friendly choice.  Apricot Culotte combines affordability, great French quality and style and the convenience of online shopping.
