Give them fuel for school: easy, healthy snacks for kids
Snack time is super important for kids, whether it’s during school or afterwards. We all want our kiddos noshing on easy, healthy, kid-friendly food that gives them a brain-boost and pep-surge. I do a lot of my grocery shopping online now, especially for snack items I can stock up on for easy-access nibblies that are ready to go in lunches (and our mouths). Here’s a list of pretty healthy option snacks I found while shopping online at Save-On Foods.
Gimme Organic Roasted Seaweed Snacks
Seaweed is PACKED with nutrients, including high levels of vitamins A and C, and calcium. It’s a natural, non-animal source of vitamin B-12, and also has high amounts of iodine, potassium, selenium, iron, and magnesium. Perfect for a light bite or sprinkle them on rice balls!
Earthbound Farm Organic Mangos
Naturally sweet and dried, these organic mangos have no added sugar. They’re low in sodium, high in vitamin A, and the very definition of a perfect snack.
Kind Dark Chocolate Nuts & Sea Salt Bar
With wholesome ingredients like whole nuts, whole grains, and fruit, Kind Bars are a healthier alternative to candy bars.
Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies
Everybody knows about these guys. They’re organic, made with real cheese, and have no artificial flavours. A handful of little buns will help fill their grumbly tums.
Lundberg organic brown rice cakes
These organic whole-grain brown rice cakes are sprinkled with a little sea salt. My son loves them with a little peanut butter, of course, but you can also serve them alone or with everybody’s fave: Nutella.
