Top Vancouver Family Photographers, a Q&A with Liliya Lubenkova Portraits
1. Tell us a bit about your photography business
I am a Burnaby-based photographer specializing in elegant maternity, beautiful motherhood and boudoir photography.I’ve always loved anything artistic and creative and have been very lucky to find myself in portrait photography a few years ago. To learn digital photography, I finished a 2-year program at Emily Carr University and was mentored by some of the most internationally recognized and awarded photographers in this genre. I opened my studio with the belief that every woman deserves to have beautiful and timeless portraits of herself. Women, especially in their pregnancy and motherhood state, do not always feel good about themselves and the changes their bodies are going through. They may feel uncomfortable, tired and simply not pretty. I love helping women see their beauty and feel proud of themselves, giving them the confidence that they can take on motherhood.
2. What should clients expect when working with you?
When you sign up for a Maternity or Motherhood session with me, you can expect that I will take care of the whole process so you can relax and enjoy a truly unique experience of being photographed as a model from a fashion magazine. My service includes pre-shoot consultation, access to studio wardrobe with beautiful dresses and Italian silk draping, professional hair & makeup, a fully guided photo-session and professional photo retouching. My team and I make every woman feel beautiful and confident.
The best part about being a photographer is creating a unique experience in which a woman feels relaxed, beautiful and empowered, when she looks at her photos and says, “WOW, is that ME? I look so beautiful!”
3. How would you describe your photographic style?
As a Maternity and Motherhood photographer, I create editorial style portraits for my clients. My works are simple and clean and have a fashion magazine style look. Some clients prefer minimalistic nude photographs and artistic silk wraps, while others want to be fully clothed. It is your choice. Either way, I will create beautiful, classic and timeless photographs for you and your family.
4. Can you share a few a quick tips on how to prepare for a photo shoot?
Schedule a manicure and a pedicure the day before your session, make an appointment the week of with your stylist to touch up your hair cut or color if needed. These little touch ups can go a long way to making you feel even more confident and camera ready!
Get plenty of rest the night before and arrive to the studio with clean, dry hair and no makeup, ready for your makeover.
5. What is the best part about being a Maternity Photographer?
I love helping women see their beauty, and inspiring their confidence with my art. I love showing them how incredibly magnificent, strong and beautiful they are.
The best part about being a photographer is creating a unique experience in which a woman feels relaxed, beautiful and empowered, when she looks at her photos and says, “WOW, is that ME? I look so beautiful!”
