Madeleine Shaw’s Favourite Things
Madeleine Shaw is the co-founder of Lunapads, a manufacturing and e-tail business that specializes in natural feminine hygiene products. She lives in Richmond with her husband and daughter.
Favourite Thing For Your Kids
My current pick is the Greenheart Canopy Walkway at the UBC Botanical Garden. It’s perfect for out of town visitors with kids.
Favourite Thing For You
Time in my garden – it’s creativity, beauty, meditation, exercise, and sustenance all in one.
Favourite Thing For Work
It’s funny for someone who runs an online business, but I’m going to say the telephone. Sometimes there’s nothing like a personal, in-the-moment conversation for maintaining relationships (and getting things done!)
Favourite Place i
n Vancouver
It’s not in Vancouver per se, but I love Westham Island – berries in the summer, pumpkins in the fall, and birds year-round.
Favourite Birthday Gift Idea
A beautifully framed photo or other piece of personal art. I just gave one of my daughter’s godmothers a framed drawing of Gigi’s – they were both thrilled.
Favourite Kids Book
The Subway Mouse by Barbara Reid. I love the artwork as much as its powerful message about faith and bravery.
Favourite Restaurant
I haven’t been there for ages, but Tapastree in the West End was my favourite neighborhood restaurant for years. It was great for everything from not feeling like cooking on a Tuesday to birthdays.
