Welcome to artmania, a place for people and art!
We are a team of highly creative and enthusiastic artists with a passion for sharing our knowledge through classes for all ages. At artmania, we are happy to be celebrating our 14th year of bringing art classes to elementary schools across the lower mainland. We are also very proud of our newest addition to the company, a studio and gallery space in the heart of beautiful Dundarave Village, West Vancouver.
What we do:
artmania offers fun and exciting art classes for children and adults. At our studio, we provide the creative setting for a hands on art experience through classes and workshops. We also bring the artmania experience to your local school, offering lunchtime and after school classes.
We offer art parties and workshops at our studio, in your home, or work place. Each event is custom designed to suit your needs. We have a selection of parties to choose from that range from printmaking, wacky crush t-shirts, funky sculptures, cool screen-printed bags and more.
Our gallery showcases and supports unique and emerging local artists.
Please feel free to contact us by phone, through our website, or by visiting our studio to find out more about our programs!
The Lyceum is a place full of stories – we have the largest private children’s library in the city. Our camps start with great works of literature, which we take great delight in sharing. We use these to inspire the creation of incredible works of art and writing, or the weaving of shared imaginative spaces where really anything can happen.
The centre is run by Dr. Christianne Hayward, who is a legend in Vancouver’s education and children’s literature communities. She has created this magical space where there’s a focus on making for the joy it brings, and being part of a creative community.
What we hope children will learn is that making things – whether it’s a painting, a story, an ordinary box into something truly extraordinary – is a sustaining and lifelong activity. We also hope that when they leave our camps they have a greater sense of how curiosity transforms into possibility.
The Lyceum also offers delightful art and literature-based summer camps (that may even involve fairies!) all summer long for ages 3-18.
At Gabriela’s Movement Studio, Gabriela specializes in the young child with high quality ballet and creative movement/art classes for boys and girls, from 2 to 9 years old. Gabriela was the winner in 2015 and finalist from 2011 to 2014 as Best Dance Instructor in the Richmond Review Best of Richmond Reader’s Poll. At Gabriela’s Movement Studio groups are small, allowing for more personal attention. The atmosphere at the Studio is family oriented. Each family is special and each child is unique.
All of the students are given the opportunity to challenge themselves and develop their skills and talents at their own pace in a safe environment. The classes are presented in a fun way, resulting in an energetic class, sure to please the young student, all while learning through dance, a skill that help their minds and bodies develop as they learn coordination, memorization, and social interactions.
These skills become more challenging throughout the year and progress according to their own age. Dance enriches children with a sense of creativity, movement and self esteem that remains with them throughout their lives. The classes are specifically designed for each child’s age.

At Music Together, we believe that all children are musical. Studies show that, with the enough exposure to music-making experiences at a young age, children can achieve Basic Music Competence (being able to sing in tune and keep a beat) between the ages of 4 and 6. We are all born with a certain amount of musical potential but whether we achieve this potential depends less on our genetics and more on our interaction with music making! Musical development in children is a lot like language development. We need to interact directly with that language and play around with the sounds and babble and experiment with rhythms and movement.
Music Together wants to empower your family to become confident music makers and take those songs you sing in the shower into the living room and get out the pots and pans for a kitchen band and have family dance jams! At Music Together, we provide a safe, fun environment where everyone can feel comfortable participating in music making. This gives each child a rich, informal learning environment to soak up this language called music. At this age, children learn through play and that is what we do at Music Together. We play with music and through our play we achieve competence. At Music Together, you will join a community of music makers and be given the knowledge, ideas and confidence to bring music making into your home.
“Thank you so much for the wonderful Music Together classes! Elise loves coming to class and sings the songs and rhythms all day. What a wonderful introduction to music for her.” Dahlia – Vancouver Music Together mom
