Tell us a bit about your photography business
I’m a maternity, newborn and family photographer specializing in mobile photoshoots around the Greater Vancouver Region. I started Eva Photography in 2018 shortly after my little one was born. I carry with me a carefully curated collection of clothing and props designed to suit a variety of different skin tones and fashion tastes. I absolutely love my business and my clients and hope to one day serve you!
What should clients expect when working with you?
I love to smile, laugh and have fun and make others do the same. I will tell you to just smile at each other, chat, and have fun with your kids. Just enjoy the moment, while feeling beautiful and natural. The best shoots are taken when you’re not trying too hard to look pretty, just embracing the moment 🙂
3. Why (or how) did you get into photography?
I remember like it was yesterday. I got my first camera when I was 10 years old and since then I have absolutely loved the art of photography. However, what it took to push me in the business direction was my own less than ideal experience with the newborn shoot for my baby boy. I hired a photographer for my newborn session and, unfortunately, I was informed a couple weeks after the shoot that all but one of the photos had been accidentally deleted! Also, all the mobile photographers I found in the city were way out of my budget. So after this experience, and with the desire to help others avoid my fate, I decided to go ahead and start a mobile newborn photography business myself!
4. How would you describe your photographic style?
I love warm, dreamy and creamy styles. I also appreciate when I make my clients feel beautiful. So if there are any wrinkles or stretchmarks which you don’t like I will make sure to photoshop them so you can enjoy your unique body image without the insecurities.
5. Can you share a few a quick tips on how to prepare your kids for a photo shoot?
I’m happy to answer all of your questions! First of all, you should let them know they are going to have a lot of fun that day. They can just be themselves, snuggle and cuddle with you, and most importantly, have fun! Also, bring some snacks in case their energy wears out. Please don’t stress if they act crazy. They’re simply kids after all and as a mother of a 5 year old, I completely understand! Love them, laugh with them and I will do the rest capturing those unforgettable moments.
6. What is the best part about being a Family Photographer?
I love the connection between myself and my clients. It’s like having another family member after the photoshoot 🙂 I end up feeling like we’ve know each other for years! I love chatting with the kids and they all make my heart melt. I also love their reaction after seeing the pictures, they always enjoy them so much!
