VanDusen Glow in the Garden, October 24 – 31
Take the kids on whimsical twisty, magical Halloween walk inspired by Alice in Wonderland through the twisty trails at VanDusen Botanical Garden. Follow the white rabbit on a wondrous walk with zany lights and sounds, and illuminated pumpkin caricatures. Plus tasty treats, crafts and more.
Alien Family Weekend at HR Macmillan Space Centre, Oct 28 & 29
Have you ever wondered what you would look like as an alien? Head down to the HR MacMillan Space Centre and find out! Make-up artists from Blanche Macdonald will transform your whole family into aliens that could reside on three possible planets in our galaxy. Plus, special crafts and activities. It’s also the perfect weekend to test out your halloween costume!
Halloween Carnival at Roundhouse Community Centre, October 31
Dress up in your scariest costume and participate in ghoulish games and creepy crafts! Explore the Ghoulish Graveyard full of spooky surprises, fun activities and maybe some candy too. Caregiver participation is required. This event sells out each year. Tix are $6.
Fort Langley National Historic Site, October 29
Trick-or-treat at Fort Langley National Historic Site! Make a craft, visit the Spooky Servants quarters and get an airbrush tattoo. Geared towards families with young kids. Wear your costumes for spooktacular photos. And even better? It’s free thanks to Canada 150!
Bear Creek Park Halloween Pumpkin Express & Haunted Forest Scream Train
The Halloween Pumpkin Express train is a kid-friendly ride that runs during the day until Halloween and includes craft activities and a Halloween treat and mini pumpkin for each child. At night, the train transforms into the truly terrifying Haunted Forest Scream Train (only for older kids who love a good scare!)
Halloween at the Cannery, October 28 & 29
Dare to walk through their feature haunted house at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site, encounter ghoulish cannery characters, and see what tricks you have to play to get some treats! (By donation).
Trick or Treat at the Sea to Sky Gondola, October 28
Sea to Sky Gondola welcomes costume-clad trick-or-treaters of all ages for gentle, family-friendly afternoon of seasonal surprises at the top of the gondola! Picture animal mascots handing out candy, face-painting and crafts, owl with the falconry guy, a pop up dance troupe and trick or treating at basecamp and the kids’ Alpine Alley Trail.
Wesbrook Village Halloween, October 31
Halloween in Wesbrook Village has never been sweeter – or more mysterious! Back again this year is the frighteningly famous Trick-or-Treating event on October 31, from 4-6 pm. Come in costume for a frightfully good time!
Rocky Mountain Flatbread, Oct 29
Head to either Rocky Moutain Flatbread location for a creepy crawly Halloween party with tons of spooky fun including a Halloween pizza making station, creepy crawly candy bar, drinks and potion bar and face painting. Night for all Souls at MountainView Cemetery, October 28
For those who find candy and costumes a little too frenetic, this lovely annual event offers a quieter alternative. Curated by artists Paula Jardine and Marina Szijarto, this unique cultural event offers the public an opportunity to remember their dead, whether interred at Mountain View Cemetery or not, in a gentle atmosphere of contemplative beauty. There is fire, soothing live music, art installations, poetry and lights.
