Hee haw! It’s time for SuperDogs, blue-ribbon farm animals, show stopping performances, mini donuts and ooey gooey ribs because the PNE Fair opens tomorrow. And of course Vancouver’s answer to Disneyland, Playland has been going strong all summer so if you haven’t, now is also the time to take a gentle ride on the Ferris Wheel or go nuts on The Beast! But please, just wait until after your ride for that giant hot dog!

Knights of Valour – NEW
Prepare yourself for entertainment worthy of a king and queen. With full contact, un-choreographed, real live jousting, this is a thrilling show of horsemanship, bravery and chivalry like you’ve never seen before. Come and see your knights in shining armour as they ride into battle – it’s positively medieval!
Lost World of Dragons
Celebrate the wonder of dragons and and the thrill of seeing them brought to animatronic life. Immerse yourself in the stories of dragons, which appear in the lore and history of nearly every region and culture, from Norway to ancient China.
Super Dogs Happy Barkday
It’s just not the PNE without these hoop jumping marvels and this year mark’s the 40th birthday of The President’s Choice SuperDogs so it’s bound to be a barking good time! Woof woof!
Learn to Fish
Slow things down a bit and cast a line in Sanctuary Pond. Learn the basics of fishing including: hatchery roles, local conservation concerns, fishing equipment, casting, and how to rig your rod. Youth under 16 and participants 16 and older with a valid freshwater fishing licence can also try their luck fishing off the dock on Sanctuary Pond.
Magic Brian – NEW
This internationally acclaimed magical marvel will have you laughing hysterically one moment and gasping in awe the next. It’s a high-energy, interactive comedy-magic sideshow with plenty of surprises – including a record-breaking escape from a real straitjacket and 40 feet of chain.
Safeway Kidz Discovery Farm
City kids can ‘become a farmer’ for a short time while learning how their food gets from the farm to your local grocery store. Kids are put to work at various pretend play farm chores such as milking a cow, pedaling a tractor, collecting eggs and harvesting apples while moving from farm to farm.
Live Event Mural
Known for his paint splashed style of large scale street art, Ryan ‘ARCY’ Christenson will be creating LIVE mural art for 15 days celebrating iconic moments of the Pacific Coliseum’s history, for its 50th anniversary.
It’s time to laugh out loud and stretch a smile from ear to ear in ToonCity. Play, dance and paint in The Fair’s family pit-stop. Catch the live mermaid and safari shows.
How to get Tickets
Tickets to The Fair at the PNE are $15 for entry ($7 for seniors, free for kids 13 & under) when you purchase tickets online. You can also add a fair ride pass for $43.75 +. But, there are several promo days and way to save on tickets.
The Fair at the PNE opens on Saturday, August 18, 2018 and runs until Monday, September 3, 2018 from 11am – Late every day (except Mondays).
