Capilano Canyon Lights for a Giddy, Glittering Christmas

Visit Capilano Suspension Bridge for their spectacular Christmas event from, on now and running to January 3, 2015, every day except Christmas Day. It’s a great, more laid back alternative to Bright Nights, and it’s worth remembering that for residents, one entry ticket buys you a year’s membership. Hundreds of thousands of lights line the bridge into the forest, wrapped around the tallest trees and meandering around the cliff walk. It’s beautiful – and it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Holiday Activities at Canyon LightsCapilano Canyon Lights

In addition to the spectacular lights adorning the forest and bridge walks, there is plenty to do at Canyon Lights. Your kids can enjoy a scavenger hunt and gingerbread cookie decorating, and everyone can get into a festive mood thanks to carol singers and a holiday band. You can enjoy some festive treats in the Winter Pavilion – and even make your own Christmas cards. It’s a wonderful (and magical) way to spend a late afternoon with the kids. It’s also a dazzling Vancouver holiday tradition to share with out of town guests.

World’s Tallest Living Christmas Tree

Apparently! Their resident Douglas Fir stands at 46.4 meters (152 feet) tall and is covered with thousands of wow-inducing, kid-enthralling sparkling lights. Because as any child can tell you, bigger is pretty much always better.

Canyon Lights isn’t cheap, but as we mentioned a one-time admission can get you a complimentary annual pass as a BC resident. Family memberships can be purchased during Canyon Lights in person only at the main entrance. It’s $69 for two adults and two kids up to 16 years old.
