Fun Events Happening around Metro Vancouver in July!

Fun family events happening around Metro Vancouver in July, you ask?
If July isn’t your favourite month, just give it a chance this year.

From Bubble Tea Festivals to keep you cool to an epic revamp of A Midsummer Nights Dream by Bard on the Beach- July is doing its best to start summer with a bang!

In Vancouver

Vancouver Folk Music Festival

This three day festival is laid back and family friendly! Back for its 42nd year this summer, the Vancouver Folk Fest has a great line up. Passes to the Folk Festival are FREE for kids 12 years or younger

Honda: Celebration of Light

Summer doesn’t feel complete without the Celebration of Light. This year Japan will open on the 23rd, followed by Canada on the 27th and the finale with Spain on the 30th. Head to English Bay or Kits for the best views.

Theatre Under the Stars

A performance under the stars is a summer must! Do you have Hamilton fans in your home? It’s time to add to their musical pallet by introducing them to Theatre Under the Stars! This year there are two performances that are sure you have musical lovers singing and dancing:

Bard on the Beach is back! We are most excited about that the three plays are:
A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Harlem Duet
Romeo and Juliet

We also love that they have family days with relaxed performances. Book your ticket on July 17th for a Midsummer Night’s Dream or their August 14th show. Infants and children of all ages are welcome at Family Day & Relaxed Performances in the company of a parent or guardian. Children aged 2-5 require a ticket.

We are so excited that Summer Cinema at Stanley park has retuned! What a line up of films to enjoy completely FREE! Grab a blanket and you family because this is such a special outdoor event. Fresh air and lots of cuddles, all the things summer is about!

Your eyes did not deceive you! If you are a boba fan, you have found your festival. We were sold at bubble tea, but performances, kid-friendly activities, and delicious eats! We’re there. This event takes place in Burnaby, and we suggest getting tickets while they last; packages include group ticket prices.

Surrey Fusion Festival

The Surrey Fusion Festival returns for its 15th year with the theme of Community celebrating food, music, and culture. This event is packed with many fun activities for kids; it’s truly a family-friendly event you won’t to miss. With Storyville, Toddler Town, and a Sports Zone, kids will leave exhausted from all the fun. Plus, there are so many authentic food vendors from all cultures to keep your belly full.
