Vancouver Mom to Follow: Jennifer Varney of Barre Fitness
This Week’s Vancouver Mom to Follow is Jennifer Varney. Born and bred in Vancouver, she has over 20 years of experience and a dancer and teacher in multiple dance styles including jazz, tap and ballet. After many years of traveling abroad as a professional dancer, Jennifer settled back into her hometown and began her teaching career as a dance instructor at various competitive studios in the Lower Mainland.
Not only is Jen a trained dancer and respected instructor, she is an avid fitness enthusiast. She started as a client at Barre Fitness in Yaletown and North Van, and it wasn’t long before she realized that Barre Fitness meant more to her than the exceptional workout it offered.
The barre community is something that resonated with Jen and she knew she had to be a part of this community in a big way. The technique behind the workout combines Jen’s love for both dance and fitness and it was a no-brainer to her that she would be the third franchisee owner. Along with her husband, Jen has two beautiful young girls that you can catch dancing up a storm at the new Port Moody studio!
Jennifer is beyond thrilled to bring Barre Fitness to the Tri-City area and she cannot wait to inspire you to live a happier, healthier life…one plie at a time!

Another great family-friendly spot to pop in for a cold beverage! The kids love the shuffleboard and free video arcade games, and mom and dad like the cold brew. 😉
