Vancouver Mom to Follow: Genicca Whitney

Meet Genicca Whitney, a Licensed Holistic Financial Planner, speaker, author, and philanthropist who is changing the way families talk about money. As the host of the Raise Rich Kids Podcast and the creator of the Kidpreneur Challenge, Genicca has built her career around a simple mission: helping families build wealth with confidence, and raising the next generation to understand money instead of fearing it. Beyond the boardroom, she’s a mom of two girls, a builder of community through Mothers x Mission, and someone who firmly believes motherhood and ambition were never meant to be separate things.

We sat down with Genicca to ask her what makes her a Vancouver Mom to Follow, and her answer is exactly the kind of honest, grounded wisdom you’d expect from someone who has built a career on financial clarity and a life on showing up fully, at work and at home

Describe your business or career role.

I’m a Licensed Holistic Financial Planner, speaker, author, and philanthropist, and my mission is helping families, business owners, and professionals build lasting wealth. Through my work, I combine strategic financial planning, tax efficient wealth strategies, investing, entrepreneurship, and financial education so families can build prosperous lives with real confidence and clarity, not guesswork.

My approach is holistic because money never exists in isolation. Every financial decision I help a client make is tied back to their long-term goals and the legacy they want to leave behind. I also host the Raise Rich Kids Podcast and run the Kidpreneur Challenge, which are two of my favourite ways to bring financial literacy into everyday family life. At the core of everything I do is one mission: break the cycle of financial stress, increase financial literacy, and empower families to build generational wealth with real conviction.

What makes you a Vancouver Mom to follow?

I’m redefining what modern motherhood can look like. As a Licensed Holistic Financial Planner, speaker, author, and entrepreneur, I share practical strategies that help families build wealth, raise financially confident kids, and create lives by design, not by default.

From teaching kids entrepreneurship through the Kidpreneur Challenge and the Raise Rich Kids Podcast, to empowering women through Mothers x Mission, I believe motherhood and ambition can absolutely coexist. My content blends financial literacy, business, parenting, personal growth, and community, and it’s all meant to inspire families to break generational cycles and build a legacy that lasts.

I’m passionate about making money conversations approachable, empowering, and actionable, because I believe financial literacy is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves, and the next generation.

Tell us about your family.

I’m mom to two incredible girls, ages 11 and 12, and they are honestly my biggest why behind everything I do. Watching them grow into curious, confident young women is what keeps me grounded no matter how full my calendar gets.

Our home is full of conversation, whether it’s about money, dreams, school, or whatever big idea one of them is chasing that week. I’ve always believed that the lessons we teach our kids about money, confidence, and possibility start at the kitchen table, long before they start earning their own income. My girls have grown up watching me build a business from the ground up, and I love that they’re learning firsthand that ambition and family aren’t opposites. They can exist in the same home, at the same time, fully.

What are your go-to activities, places, or hidden gems in Metro Vancouver that you and your family love?

We are a family that loves being outside. Some of our favourite weekends are the ones with no real plan, just a new park, forest trail, or beach we haven’t explored yet. There’s something about being surrounded by the trees, the mountains, and the water here that resets all of us, especially after a busy week. We’ll pack a blanket and just show up, no agenda, and let the girls run until the sun starts going down.

What’s something motherhood has taught you about yourself?

Motherhood has activated superhuman powers I never knew existed. I have conquered fears, accomplished dreams, and rediscovered my own inner child through being a mother. I’ve learned how to find grace in heavy moments, how to actually ask for help instead of white knuckling through everything, and how to be fully present for the small, meaningful moments that make up a life.

Becoming a mother helped me realize what I am truly capable of. I love myself today more than I ever have, because I am a mother.
