Vancouver Mom to Follow: Renee Iaci of Neverland Tea Salon

This week’s Mom to Follow is Renee Iaci of Shameless Hussy fame and more recently as co-owner of the popular and whimsical Neverland Tea Salon.

Renee and fam at Disneyland.

Neverland is locally owned and conceived by Renee and her childhood friends Terri Tatchell. With backgrounds in film (Terri is the Oscar-nominated co-writer of District 9) and theatre (Renee is an original founder of Shameless Hussy Productions), they built Neverland with an eye for excellence and an emphasis on the experience. Their shared love of decadence and whimsy can be felt from the moment you walk through the door. They are also strong advocates of the tipsy teas (hear hear!)

Neverland Tea Salon’s wonderful collection of whimsical tea cups.

Renee’s favourite places to go around Vancouver

Granville Island

I know this is kinda cheating because Granville Island covers so much, but after 25 years of working on the island, I still love it. GI hosts the best festivals (the Fringe, Kids Fest, Jazz Fest), great theatre, great restaurants and shopping. Sofia loves taking classes at Arts Umbrella and I’m actually still a regular at the Granville Island Tea Company! Granville Island is a place in Vancouver that is very ALIVE.

I love to run and, as a family we love to bike around it, stopping at restaurants, parks and the beaches along the way.

Triangle Road in Richmond

One of our favourite things to do as a family is dirt bike. Right behind the Riverport movie theatres is a place where we can get our dirt biking fix. The area is changing but there is still a space to play  . . . until we have a chance to get away to Princeton or other amazing dirt biking locations all over the province.
