Inside and out of the tunnel, the mysteries of mining are explained, thanks to smiling, knowledgeable tour guides. Each one of them likes children, maybe because they never have to say “don’t touch”.
Britannia’s hands-on visit includes the fun of panning for gold (you find it, you keep it). New view this year
Foundations on the freshly restored Howe Sound Deck is a new, permanent, outdoor, open-air exhibit located near the entrance of the Train Pavilion. Sitting 40 feet above the Sea to Sky Highway with breathtaking panoramic views of Howe Sound, Foundations explores Britannia’s colourful history and how mining has contributed to the community and province.
