VM Style File: The mom romper for every body

We have long adored our children’s wardrobes for their function, adorableness, and comfort. It was only a matter of time before we stole something for ourselves. Cue the mom romper!  The romper has come on strong this past year.  If you’ve tried one, you’ll know why.  The comfort level is off the charts and there are so many fun ways to style them.

I think we can all agree that every bod is going to want to get in on this adorable new mom wardrobe staple, so it’s great to see some amazing size ranges available.  This flowy grey romper ($82 CAD)  is from online, plus size boutique, Fox + Wit.  They have a great variety of rompers for sizes 1X – 3X.  The black romper ($119 CAD) is from cult brand favourite, Smash + Tess, who offer up sizes from XXS – XL.

Now that you’re ready to shop and pick yourself up your new mom uniform, here are three things to keep in mind with romping…

  1. Fit!  Like all garments, the fit is everything.  Too baggy and you’ll be completely lost in the garment. Too tight, and well, things might be looking a bit obscene at Summer camp pick up. LOL!
  2. The right undergarments will help flatter the silhouette. The wrong undergarments may have you looking a bit lumpy. Choose undies that won’t give you too much in the way of VPL (visible panty lines).
  3. Have fun styling it! Yes, you can absolutely make it your lazy day go-to, but also, layer it up, top it off with a hat, accessorize, and just have fun with it.
