Nature Fix: Lynn Canyon
Even urban moms like to get into nature with their little (or bigger) ones. After all, why else would we live in Vancouver with its snow capped peaks, glittering waters and towering firs? And all the better if it’s close by. One favorite place that came up over and over again for our featured Vancouver Moms was North Shore’s Lynn Canyon.
An easy hop across the bridge for Vancouverites, it’s an oasis of majestic trees, giant stumps for climbing, clean air and the jittery high wire thrill of the suspension bridge. For little learners, the Ecology Centre offers programs for kids where they can hear stories, learn about birds, bugs and flowers and tramp through the rainforest. But don’t take our word for it.
What moms had to say …
Lynn Valley Suspension Bridge
“With a tiny little ecology centre never crowded and a suspension bridge, hiking, big trees and all free, this is my fave North Van treasure.” ~Manda Aufochs Gillespie
Lynn Headwaters Park
“When the need for a nature re-set kicks in for me and my boys, we head to the trails along the babbling Lynn River.” ~Amy Robinson
Lynn Canyon
“Scenic riverside hiking trails, a breathtaking suspension bridge, a quaint coffee shop, and an educational and fun Ecology Centre.” ~Bianca Bujan
