Vancouver Mom to Follow: Shannon Sawicki of Venus Fitness

This week’s Vancouver Mom to Follow is Shannon Sawicki. Shannon has been a Richmond based step-mother for over 7 years. In 2016 their family of four grew not just in size but in love, with the surprise addition of a beautiful baby boy. A baby who beat incredible odds, surprising them all and proving that miracles do happen. In addition to her full-time career with The Great Little Box Company, she established her own business called Venus Fitness and Lifestyle, she is a Fitness Leader with both the Southarm and Steveston Community centres. Recently adding blogging to the fold, Shannon shares tips and insights surrounding fitness family and fun.

Five places Shannon loves to go with her kids
The World of Kidtropolis
Perfect for rainy days. This indoor playground is great for blowing off steam with some pretend play and of course sliding.
Steveston Boardwalk (Britannia Shipyards)
Running or walking the Steveston boardwalk is a frequent spot for us. We love “running” into our friends in the community and making friends with all dog owners on our route.
Richmond Country Farms
A great spot for turning the errand of picking up local produce into family fun! We enjoy visiting the animals and chasing the chickens.
Big Splash Waterpark
This past summer we had a blast cooling off at the newly renovated Big Splash waterslides.
Britannia Brewery
Family fun, or laughing and relating with my beautiful tribe of Steveston Mommy’s. Britannia is close to home with a great causal atmosphere and some delicious sticky date pudding. #StevestonMomSquad
