Vancouver Mom to Follow: Nadia Karmas
This week’s Mom to Follow is Nadia Karmas. a dance instructor and mom to 9-year-old twins. She is African, European and Canadian and shares her love for dancing and culture with the younger generation to reveal their natural talent. She gives classes in schools in both French and English, and helps kids to work out and explore new cultures through movements. She also runs African/Moroccan and hip swing dance classes for women and moms and kids. Here are a few of her favourite spots to go with her family.
Five places Nadia loves to go with her family
Asa Sushi
It is our favourite place for Wednesdays sushi nights. The staff know us very well and we get some free specialities made by the chef:)
Benton Brothers Fine Cheese
A great place to get amazing cheeses from Europe! The staff are friendly and welcoming. Every visit is a treat.
Kerrisdale public library
We love spending time at the library reading books and stories in French and English. My kids participate in activities there to develop their reading skills.
Kitsilano Beach
The beach has lots to make it appealing including proximity to playgrounds, restaurants, washrooms and the Museum of Vancouver. We enjoy walking and exploring the crab life.
My kids practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Gracie Barra Vancouver. Great staff and programs, lovely people!
Carousel Theatre
We like Carousel Theatre for its great activities. And I give Moroccan dance workshops there:)
