Happy Birthday VancouverMom.ca!
Four years ago, on October 2, 2009, VancouverMom.ca launched with its first two articles: Umbrella Stroller Buying Guide and Vancouver Mom Profile: Toni Durbin of Mommies in Motion. Today, as we celebrate our fourth birthday, we’ve published 1493 articles, received 1827 comments, connected with 4702 Facebook fans, and tweeted with 6224 Twitter followers.
Four Years of VancouverMom.ca
It’s been a busy four years. We recognized our Top 30 Vancouver Mom Bloggers in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. We ran countless giveaways, published guides, reviewed restaurants, checked out fabulous shopping and met amazing moms. We co-hosted two Leading Moms events, made videos, and recorded podcasts. We connected with sponsors and partnered with amazing businesses. We welcomed team members and contributors. We sent newsletters and got hooked on Instagram.
We’re thrilled with how VancouverMom.ca has grown over the past four years. However, in the end it’s not about the numbers, or about how we feel about our site. It’s about the Vancouver moms we’ve met along the way. Each and every day we’re gobsmacked by you, our partners in motherhood. You continue to inspire us and remind us why we love where we live. You show us how you make being a mom just a little bit easier, just a little bit happier, just a little bit more fun. They say it takes a village to raise a child. We think it also takes a village to raise a mother. We need the support of each other, and that’s the best thing that comes with being a part of VancouverMom.ca.
Four years in, we like to think we’re just getting started. We’re certainly not slowing down. We’re always striving to improve, and looking for new ways to help connect moms with this amazing city and with each other. We hope that you will come along with us for the rest of this journey. We’re excited to see where it takes us next!
