Sick of ice cream yet? No? Neither are we! But we love to change it up with popsicles! It’s as equally delightful as ice cream but there’s something about that icy treat on a stick that really refreshing after a day in the Vancouver sun. Artisanal popsicles are popping up everywhere. They no longer taste like artificially coloured and flavoured ice. These are locally made and chock full of real ingredients, with most made from fruit from local farms! Here’s our faves.
Find Johnny Pops popsicle cart all over the Vancouver area! They can be found at Vancouver farmer’s markets, events and festivals. They also offer catering services which would be perfect for an outdoor party or wedding. Best part is that the fruit they use are all sourced from local farms!
Mexi Pops are frozen treats inspired by a Mexican paleta: popsicles full of real fruit. Some of their flavours are: key lime, coconut espresso, mango coconut, raspberry yogurt. For an organic healthy snack, go for their frozen organic mango on a stick! It’s cut like a flower making it easy for little ones to eat. They will be at the Vancouver Folk Fest at Jericho Beach.
MomoPops have uniquely delicious flavours, including over 10 vegan flavours, such as avocado-coconut-lime (now doesn’t that sound just divine?). They also offer gluten-free and dairy-free options. They can often be found at farmer’s markets all over the Lower Mainland including Port Coquitlam, Riley Park and the Fraser Valley, so be sure to check their Instagram to find out where they’ll be hanging out.
