Inspire Young Minds with Early Learning Foundations

Early childhood is a crucial time in a child’s development, laying the foundation for lifelong learning. Vancouver’s Arts Umbrella understands the importance of these formative years and has created the Early Learning Foundations (ELF) program to provide a rich arts-based education for young children. The ELF program combines visual arts, music, dance, and theatre in a half-day session that promotes creativity, confidence, and emotional growth.

Why Arts Education Matters in Early Childhood

Arts education goes beyond teaching creative skills; it helps children develop problem-solving abilities, communication, and emotional intelligence. Engaging in arts from a young age encourages children to express their thoughts and emotions, building self-confidence and improving their ability to interact with others. The ELF program at Arts Umbrella nurtures these critical skills through an immersive, interactive learning experience.

Introducing the Early Learning Foundations Program

The ELF program offers a comprehensive, arts-centered education for children. In a single session, kids explore multiple art forms, developing their imagination and intellectual curiosity. The flexible schedule is designed to meet the needs of busy families, with drop-off times between 8:30 and 8:45 am, and pick-up from 11:30 am to 12 pm. This provides caregivers with a 3-hour window to run errands, work, or relax.

What Sets ELF Apart

The ELF program is grounded in early childhood education principles and developed by experts to foster holistic development. While children engage in artistic activities, they also build social, emotional, and cognitive skills. Arts Umbrella’s focus on the development of the whole child ensures that each learner progresses at their own pace, in a supportive and inclusive environment.
