On October 3, 2012 VancouverMom.ca teamed up with our friends at Modern Mama and Entrepreneur Mom Now Vancouver to present Leading Moms. The day was full of inspiration, as we highlighted moms who are difference-makers in a variety of fields, from fashion to politics to business to the arts to science, and a whole lot more. We were treated to talks, videos, musical performances and a fashion show. We ate breakfast inside the H.R. MacMillan Science Centre, and we ate lunch outside in the sunshine. We were energized and motivated by the whole experience.

Nicole Bridger is a Vancouver mom who received her BAA in fashion design from Ryerson University in Toronto. During an internship in London with Vivienne Westwood, she learned the art of sculpting, draping and layering fabric. In the process, she began to realize that her talent for fashion design could also be used as a vehicle for positive social change. She took this to a new level in 2006 when she aligned herself with Chip Wilson, the owner of Lululemon. The pair founded Oqoqo, a pioneer in the North American eco-fashion market. Following that experience Oqoqo, Nicole was poised to unite her passion for high fashion and eco-consciouness, founding Nicole Bridger Design in 2008. As a mother and social entrepreneur, Nicole strives to make positive contributions to her community and environment, creating clothes that make all women feel beautiful and unique. At Leading Moms, Nicole presented clothing from her Fall 2012 collection.
