If you’re looking for kid-friendly Vancouver fun any day of the year, you can’t beat children’s entertainer Will Stroet and his Backyard Band. He’s one of our favourites, and for good reason, with his music that’s catchy and fun for all ages (and not annoying, we promise). The group will perform a high-energy bilingual at the Roundhouse for Family Day. The show features lots of movement and sing-along choruses, with music from Will’s latest album Just Imagine, and the French version Imagine. Tickets are $12 per person, or $40 for the whole family.

Children’s Arts Festival

You’re invited to celebrate Family Day with imagination and creativity at Richmond’s Children’s Arts Festival. It’s back for its sixth year, and it’s happening at the Richmond Cultural Centre, 7700 Minoru Gate. The event promises to be highly affordable and highly interactive, with high quality artistic activities for kids 12 and under led by local professional artists. If you’re wondering what to do in Vancouver for some family fun, dive into Creativity Classes, Imagination Stations and special events featuring “the Wiz,” award-winning author and illustrator Lee Edward Födi and Wonderland Circus by Circus West. Admissions to Imagination Stations are $2 for adults, $5 for kids. Creativity Classes are $10, with some exceptions. Special events are $7.
