10 Fabulously Fall Activities

There’s something cozy about the leaves turning orange and the smell of pumpkin spice in the air. Vancouver offers lots of fall activities to do, rain or shine so get your gear and explore everything fall has to offer!
Here are 10 fall activities you will love!
VanDusen Gardens
The Autumn Crocus, the Hydrangeas and the Gingko trees are all in bloom making fall colours at the gardens incredible. Visit the maze and check out what’s growing in the vegetable garden as you learn to “Eat a Rainbow.” Pick up a bloom guide to learn where to find the best blooms each month.
Pumpkin Patches
A favourite on our fall activities list is pumpkin patch visits! From Emma Lea Farms in Ladner to Southlands Heritage Farm in Vancouver to Taves Family Farms in Abbotsford, pumpkin patches are a classic fall outing that the kids will love. Pick your pumpkin and finish up with a hot chocolate.
Science World
Escape the rain with some indoor, Backyard Adventures. Dig in the dirt of an augmented reality garden and see the world from a dog’s perspective at the latest Science World exhibit.
The Aquarium
The 65,000 creatures at the aquarium are welcoming visitors back to their habitats! Exhibits range from the Tropics to the Arctic and all the creatures that live there. See sealions splashing and penguins waddling then warm up in the Amazon exhibit while you try and spot the sloth.
Fly Over Canada
Soar through the sky chasing Mam Biker the Witch at the annual Halloween favourite, HowlOver Canada. This video experience uses state-of-the-art technology to make you feel like you’re flying, suspended in air chasing a band of spooky creatures across the country.
Corn Mazes
Get lost in the Fraser Valley, surrounded by vegetables! Chilliwack Corn Maze offers 12 acres of maze and a ‘wander’ theme for 2021. For older kiddies, looking for a fright, check out Reapers Maze of Terror, also in Chilliwack.
Maplewood Farms
Visit Rosie and Ringo, the Sicilian miniature donkeys, pot-bellied pigs and a family of giant New Zealand white rabbits in addition to over 200 domestic and friendly farm animals and birds.
Capilano Suspension Bridge
Fall is beautiful at Canada’s oldest visitor attraction, the City’s only 137-metre long, 70-metre high suspended footbridge. Once across the bridge, follow the forest walkway through the coastal forest and head up to the Cliffwalk. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife and the incredible coloured foliage.
Apple Picking
Learn the true meaning of farm to table at Willow View Farms in Abbotsford as you pick your own Jonagold, Gala, Fuji apples straight from the orchard. There’s no crunch like the first bite you picked yourself!
Granville Island Kids Market
Explore the Adventure Zone indoor multi level play area, arcade, virtual ride and bumper cars at the Kids Market at Granville Island. Shops to browse and cafes with hot coffee available for parents while little ones play.
