VM Picks: Spring Break Camps for Kids: Q&A With Science World

If your kid has ever wondered why the sky turns colours at sunset, how lasers work, or why their voice sounds different in a tunnel, Science World’s Spring Break Camp is about to blow their mind. Set inside an actual science centre, this five-day camp is packed with hands-on experiments, live science shows, and the kind of learning that doesn’t feel like learning at all. Here is what the team at Science World had to say:

What is your Spring Break Camp all about, and what do you want kids to learn or experience?

Science World’s Spring Break Camp is five days of lights, sound, and pure action. From photons to radio waves and gentle vibrations to sonic booms, campers dive deep into the science of light and sound in ways that are exciting, interactive, and totally unforgettable.

What kind of activities can kids expect to enjoy during the camp?

Campers will explore how rainbows form, why lasers behave the way they do, and how sound travels through air, objects, and even our bodies. Through live interactive shows and hands-on experiments, kids will see sound, hear light, and uncover the hidden science behind the everyday world around them. And the best part? Each age group gets their own themed experience. Kindergarten and Grade 1 campers join Little Wonders, where they build and explore through crafts, games, and colourful experiments in Wonderful Whispers. Grade 2 and 3 kids step into Bright Sparks, letting their creativity shine with musical crafts and flashy activities in Bright Mighty Light. And for Grade 4 through 6 students, Curious Creators is where they get to hear the joys of noise and see the delight of light in Curious Cacophony. There is truly something exciting for every age.

Share success stories or testimonials from previous participants and their parents. How have children benefited from your camp?

The reviews from Science World families say it all. Parents consistently rave about the staff, the energy, and how much their kids genuinely loved showing up each day. One parent shared that their son’s camp counsellors sparked a huge interest in a future career in science, and that he has already asked to come back for the next two years. Another noted that out of all the camps their child has attended, Science World staff are the most engaged, attentive, and great with kids. Many parents also highlighted how safe and supported their children felt throughout the week, with staff handling every situation with kindness and care. Simply put, kids leave inspired and parents leave impressed.
