Looking for a creative or active summer camp? One that keeps the kids brains or bodies engaged? Well our VM Picks: Top Vancouver Summer Camps list features some of our favourite camps for kids. We connected with Tressa Wood, founder and CEO of Young Entrepreneur Learning Labs about their entrepreneurial summer camp: the “Lemonade Stand Challenge” summer camp, which fosters your child’s enterprising spirit by teaching business and financial literacy skills.
Give us a brief description of your camp
Our Lemonade Stand Challenge summer camps introduce the basics of entrepreneurship to kids ages 7-12 through fun and engaging activities. Each day the kids will learn a new concept that will prepare them for the last day of camp – our Lemonade Stand Challenge! Our time will be shared between activities in our learning lab with fun games and outdoor challenges (location permitting).
What makes your summer camp unique?
Our camps provide kids with a unique combination of learning, soft skill development and fun. Our positive environment and supportive approach encourages team-building, collaboration, and promotes self-confidence and leadership skills.
What are 2 highlights of your camp, something the kids will talk about after camp is over.
On the last day of camp, kids will work in teams to run a mega-lemonade stand. They will see their hard work pay off as they raise funds for a local charity.
What will kids learn at your camp?
Camp goers will learn the basics of business in our hands-on program. They will be inspired to generate innovative ideas and spot opportunities through critical thinking, problem solving, and creative brain-storming techniques.
Give us one or two quick tip(s) on how to prepare kids for camp?
Just come ready to participate, make some new friends and have fun!
