Scuba Claus Returns for Holiday Splash at Vancouver Aquarium
There’s something about the holidays that makes everything feel a bit more magical. For Vancouver families looking for a festive outing that’ll create lasting memories, the Vancouver Aquarium’s Holiday Splash is back and better than ever.
Running from November 12, 2025 through January 4, 2026, this annual tradition transforms the beloved Stanley Park aquarium into an underwater winter wonderland. Picture over 1 million twinkling lights reflecting off the tanks, festive decor around every corner, and the chance to see Santa do something truly unique.

Scuba Claus Takes the Plunge
Scuba Claus is diving with the fishes (literally) three times daily, spreading what they’re calling “Fishmas spirit” to the aquatic animals. It’s one of those moments where even the most skeptical kids believe in magic again, watching Santa swim past jellyfish and sea stars.

Beyond the diving Santa, there are plenty of other festive touches. The Jelly Snow Globe is back, offering the perfect backdrop for holiday card photos. Plus, there’s a new 4-D Penguins experience that’s definitely worth checking out.
A Chance to Give Back
When visitors purchase one of the adorable axolotl stuffies from the gift shop (they’re 50 percent off during the toy drive), it gets donated to children in need through the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau. It’s a simple way to spread some holiday cheer while supporting local families.
“For 95 years, the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau has been helping families experience the true spirit of the holidays through the generosity of our community,” says Chris Bayliss, Executive Director of the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau. “The ongoing support from partners like the Vancouver Aquarium continues to make a meaningful difference.”

Special Events Worth Booking
For families wanting to make it extra special, Breakfast with Santa is happening on select dates (November 30, December 7, 14, 21, 22, and 23). Guests can choose a 10 am or 12:30 pm slot, enjoy a festive breakfast, meet Santa, and then watch him dive with the sea creatures. Tickets are limited, so early booking is recommended.
Aquarium members with Gold or Platinum memberships can bring a friend for free from November 12 to 23. Making it a perfect opportunity for a special outing.
The Vancouver Aquarium transforms into something truly special during the holiday season, offering families a unique way to celebrate.
