Learning Meets Adventure: Explore Vancouver Outdoor School
Is your child an adventurer? Do they love playing outside, exploring new places, and making new friends? If you said yes, then Vancouver Outdoor School (VOS) is the perfect place for them! At VOS, they have exciting activities that help your kids learn cool skills, like building a fire, playing in the park, and even creating their own stories. And guess what? They can do all of this while having tons of fun!
Learn Wilderness Skills in the Forest
Their school year programs happen from September to June, and they’re designed just for kids, who are 4 to 13 years old. They call it Fieldschool, and it happens from Tuesday to Friday in Vancouver, Richmond, and White Rock. They’ll get to go on awesome adventures, like learning how to survive in the wilderness, jumping around like a ninja in parkour, and playing a super cool game of Dungeons and Dragons—but with a twist! It’s all about having fun while learning something new every day.
Jump Like a Ninja with Parkour
If you’re a bit older, like 14 and up, they have something special just for them! It’s called the Vancouver Youth Leadership Centre, where they will learn how to be a leader and do amazing things. Plus, they can join the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award program, which helps them set and achieve awesome goals. Imagine doing all of this with their friends and becoming a superstar leader!
Become a Superstar Leader
This year is extra special because they’re teaming up with the Star Project theatre group. That means they can learn to sing, act, and even create their own musical! They can go from canoeing on a lake to planting in a community garden, and then spend the afternoon making their own play. How cool is that?

Vancouver Outdoor School started during COVID to get kids thriving outdoors, and we’ve been innovating ever since. From wilderness skills to parkour and creative Dungeons and Dragons, we constantly update our activities. Now in our fifth year, we’re partnering with the Star Project theatre group to add expressive arts to our outdoor adventures.
