11 Must-Visit Christmas Tree Farms

Now that we’re getting into the festive spirit, one of the best family friendly Christmas activities is to visit a Christmas tree farm! What’s more memorable experience for your kids than searching for the perfect tree to take home to decorate? Bundle up, bring some hot chocolate and get ready for a true adventure.

Christmas Tree Farms in the Lower Mainland

1. Aldor Acres

One of my absolute favourite places to visit in Langley is Aldor Acres. Along with choosing your perfect Christmas tree they have a friendly farm animal display for you to wander through. This is the perfect place to take your family for a festive outing. They have u-cut, fresh cut and live trees.

  • Dates: Nov 26 – Dec 18
  • Hours: Weekdays 10 a.m -6 p.m., Weekends 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

2. Oh Christmas Tree Farm

This is the perfect place to go on a tree hunt with your family. They have over 17 acres of trees for you to choose from, including big trees up to 20 feet tall. They have wagons and saws for you to use. And this lot is pet friendly!

  • Dates: Nov 19 until they sell out.
  • Hours: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

3. Dogwood Christmas Tree Farm

Dogwood Christmas Tree Farm is the perfect place for some family fun. In addition to Christmas trees they have fresh holly, boughs and wreaths.

  • Hours: 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. daily

Notes: Please bring cash to pay. Due to poor wifi connection the debit machine is often down due to the rural location and spotty reception.

They are allowing and encouraging you to bring your own handsaw. Any powered tool or saw is not permitted. Axes are not allowed. Their provided handsaws will be sanitized between uses.

4. Frosty’s Family Christmas Tree Farm

This is one of the most festive Christmas tree experiences in the Lower Mainland. They create a festive atmosphere with Christmas carols and complimentary candy canes. They have acres of trees to choose from. There is a huge variety, including Douglas Fir, Grand Fir, Norway Spruce, Noble Fir and Fraser Fir.

  • Dates: Open Nov 26
  • Hours: U-Cut 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Fresh Cut 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

5. Giesbrecht’s Tree Farm

Giesbrecht’s Tree Farm is one of the largest Christmas tree producers around. They have have a great selection of fresh cut trees along with endless options if you prefer to cut your own. This farm has so much cheer and a genuine festive feel to it. There are also several super cute spots to take photos of your kids.

  • Dates: Dec 2 (U-Cut only)
  • Hours: 9am – 3:30pm

Note: No dogs permitted anywhere on the farm. No chain saws permitted 

6. Armstrong Creek Farm

If you’re looking for a fun and festive setting for all ages Armstrong Creek Farm is the farm for you. They have been growing Christmas trees since 1995 on 5 acres of land. 

  • Address: 4457-190 Street, Surrey
  • Dates and Hours: Sunday Nov. 27th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. DEC. 3rd & 4th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

7. Fern Creek Tree Farm

If your family is looking for a true forest experience, look no further. Fern Creek Tree Farm has rolling hills and a stream through the middle of the property which creates a unique experience in the heart of Langley.

8. Red Truck Trees

Red Truck Trees is back this year with fresh cut Fraser firs plus limited U-cut in the field! They’re also offering a bonfire, hot chocolate, and hot dogs! Get there earlier for the best selections!

9. Fernridge Christmas Tree Forest

If you’re looking for some good old fashion Christmas family fun Fernridge Christmas Tree Forest in Langley is a great option. This tree farm has been family owned and operated since 1988. They supply saws for cutting down trees and twine for securing it to your vehicle. And, pets are allowed!

  • Hours: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

10. Art’s Nursery

If trekking through the woods isn’t exactly the adventure you are looking for this season, but you still want some festive family fun — Art’s Nursery is the place for you! They have it all – fresh cut Christmas trees, live/potted trees and and even flocked. Art’s Nursey also has wreaths, winter porch pots and a Christmas market with tons of festive ornaments and decor. They do not have a U-cut option, but the fresh trees arrive at the nursery in multiple shipments to keep them as fresh as possible.

11. Alouette Tree Farm

  • Dates: Dec 2,3,4,9,10,11 (12pm – 5pm), Dec 4 & 5 (9am – 5pm)

This year, no pre-registration is required! Grab your cameras, coats and a sense of adventure. Visit the farm early so you can have the best selection of trees. Note there is a limited selection of u-cut and pre-cut trees available, so dates are valid as long as there is stock.
