Giveaway: Ballet BC and Sarah McLachlan are Fumbling Towards Ecstasy

Sarah McLachlan is many things: musician, singer, songwriter, Canadian icon and Vancouver mom, just to name a few. Her music has provided the soundtrack to many of her fellow Vancouver moms’ lives. Now it’s being used to provide the soundtrack to Ballet BC’s presentation of Alberta Ballet in Fumbling Towards Ecstasy. There will be three evening performances happening from November 14-16, 2013 at 8:00pm at Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Choreographer Jean Grand-Maître and an outstanding design team bring Sarah’s music to life in a riveting ballet tracing the deeply spiritual odyssey of a woman’s life from first romantic encounter to mature love. We are beyond thrilled to be teaming up for a giveaway.

Fumbling Towards Ecstasy

Grand-Maître shares, “We adopted the title from one of Sarah’s most highly acclaimed albums. But I felt an immediate affection for it since I believe it succinctly describes my personal dance vernacular as well. If Sarah’s characters do find ecstasy but not necessarily without a struggle, so do my imagined swirling, dancing figures.” The ballet features an array of music from McLachlan’s repertoire, including Hold On, Ben’s Song, Vox, Into the Fire, Building a Mystery, Ice Cream and of course the title song, plus more. Tickets for the show are available right now at ticketmaster.ca, and they range in price from $31.50 to $90.00, plus service charges. Or you can enter our giveaway, in which two lucky VancouverMom.ca readers will win a pair of tickets to the November 16, 2013 show, valued at $190 for the pair.
