What to do in Vancouver: More Pop Up Playdates

Earlier this year we filled in on how children’s playwear company Peekaboo Beans was encouraging everyone to get outside and by play by holding “Pop Up Playdates” at parks around Metro Vancouver. While we agree that getting time outdoors is important no matter the season, pretty much everyone can agree that it’s a whole lot easier and more fun when the sun is shining. With Pop Up Playdates popping up across the city during July, we think we’ve found the answer for what to do in Vancouver for a little bit of summer fun.

Peekaboo Beans created their Pop Up Playdates out of their passion for play. These free two-hour events welcome kids and their parents and caregivers to do some playing themselves. The company’s founder, Traci Costa, says, “Our children need free, unstructured play to develop into healthy individuals.” We all know that summer camp is great and scheduled activities can be sanity-savers for busy Vancouver moms. It’s important to make sure that we still allow kids time to be kids. On top of that, when you connect with other adults at playdates, you learn that taking the time to get together with other families is every bit as great for moms as it is for children.

July Dates and Locations

The Pop Up Playdates are hosted by the Peekaboo Beans Play Patrol volunteers and Play Stylists. If you’d like to add one (or more) to your list of what to do in Vancouver this month, here are some upcoming dates and locations. To stay up to date with future Pop Up Playdates, visit peekaboobeansblogspot.blogspot.com. Note that all playdates run from 10:00am – 12:00pm.
