If you’ve spent a bit too much on summer adventures or back-to-school shopping, don’t worry — we’ve rounded up some fantastic family festivals and events happening around Vancouver this weekend. So, get out and enjoy without breaking the bank!

Agassiz Fall Fair and Corn Festival

September 13 & 14, Agricultural Hall at 6800 Pioneer Avenue, Agassiz, BC

The Agassiz Fall Fair and Corn Festival, hosted by the Agassiz Agricultural and Horticultural Association, offers a fun-filled carnival midway and plenty of agricultural-themed activities. While now celebrated together, 2024 marks an exciting milestone as the Fall Fair reaches its 120th year and the Corn Festival celebrates 76 years of tradition

River Basin Days (Insect Inspection)

September 14, Langley

River Basin Days is a monthly outdoor program perfect for families to explore the Fraser River Basin. Each session offers hands-on activities, experiments, and art projects focused on the region’s biodiversity. This month, at Campbell Valley Regional Park in Langley, families will learn about insects, identify different species, create insect models, and build a bug hotel. Rain or shine, it’s a great way to connect with nature. Registration includes admission to the Fraser River Discovery Centre for a future visit.

North Shore Kids Fest

September 15, Shipyards District, North Vancouver

The North Shore Kids Fest is a fun-filled family event featuring live performances, interactive activities, and creative workshops. Families can enjoy interactive, educational activities that entertain kids of all ages, while also fostering connections with local organizations. With creative workshops and inspiring demonstrations, kids will have the chance to explore new talents and interests, making this event a memorable experience for everyone.

Car Free Day – Main Street

September 15, Vancouver

Experience Vancouver’s original Car Free Day on Main Street. This free, eco-friendly event has transformed the street into a vibrant hub for pedestrians, featuring food trucks, local vendors, live music, street performers, and activities for all ages. With games of road hockey, family-friendly fun, and beer gardens, it’s the perfect way to enjoy a car-free celebration in Metro Vancouver.
