where to eat in vancouver kid-friendly vancouver the sweeteryNestled along Second Avenue near the Olympic Village Skytrain Station there is a quaint little bakery that’s easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. But once you step inside, you can’t help but be drawn in by the smells and the goodies on display. If you have a sweet tooth, consider adding it to your list of where to eat in Vancouver.

From freshly made sandwiches, soups and individually portioned cheesecake (hello!), to delectable pastries and coffee done your way, The Sweetery is the newest and yummiest place to go when you’re looking for fresh food options in Vancouver.

Where to Eat in Vancouver for the Sweet Life

Starting out as a catering company (a service they still provide), The Sweetery offers up this full service cafe to the outskirts of the industrial lower Mount Pleasant area. They employ traditional French baking techniques with a twist and bake everything in house with the freshest ingredients without the need for artificial colors, preservatives and flavours.
Chock full of tables that can be pushed together for a few moms and strollers there are also three high chairs for your little ones at this kid-friendly Vancouver bakery. There is a plan for a change table in the bathroom and if you’re kidlets are hankering for something more simple than the gourmet sandwiches and salads on offer, The Sweetery is keen to accommodate.

Kid-Friendly Vancouver Spot

I love that the Sweetery understands kids fickle needs and as Kaja, one of their newest and sweetest employees states, “We will definitely do our best to come up with something your child will like, like a grilled cheese sandwich!”

If you want to know what the fresh offerings are for The Sweetery, check out their Facebook page which is updated daily. When I wrote this article, the Sunshine Salad was on the menu, with fresh strawberries, blueberries on a bed of spinach with, God love them, pecans!

There is plenty of parking in the area too. What could be easier? When you’re wondering where to eat in Vancouver for a healthy meal and something sweet and decadent too, The Sweetery is a great, kid-friendly Vancouver spot.
