This weekend’s list of family (and mom) outings include the ultimate Lego-lovers event: BrickCan, May the Fourth at the Space Centre for galaxy far far away lovers, Tiny Tots for the super littles, free art-making at the Polygon Gallery, a super local craft fair just in time for Mother’s Day, and The Mother of All Comedy Shows for a laugh-out-loud night out with the GFs. Fingerling Festival *Free*

Saturday, May 4, 2019, Port Moody

Join the 27th annual Fingerling Festival Saturday at the Noons Creek Hatchery in Port Moody, and help release 40,000 salmon fingerlings into the river. This free, family event includes two performances by eco stewardship advocates Bobs & Lolo.

BrickCan 2019 – LEGO Fan Expo

Saturday & Sunday May 4 & 5 2019 Richmond

Lego lovers won’t want to miss this showcase of their favourite blocks and figures. See hundreds of creative and intricate models, buy new and used Lego, and build something cool with a huge collection of Duplo and System LEGO Bricks! Tix are $15 for 4 and up.

Local funny ladies are rockin’ the mic this Saturday at the Anvil Centre in New West and poking fun at all things mom. They may be mothers. They may have mothers. They may share a viewpoint that you haven’t even thought of. This is a show for mothers and the others that love them.

Explore the artworks, and participate in activities that lead to deeper engagement with art and creativity. This Saturday, taking inspiration from the series of photographs by Alana Paterson, kids and parents will be creating life-sized portraits. How cool is that?
