Mother’s Day Glampsite Party at Metropolis at Metrotown (Featured Event)

May 10, 12pm-2pm

Celebrate Mom a day early at The Met’s special Mother’s Day event on May 10 in the Grand Court, featuring music, cocktails and wine, light canapés, DIY s’mores, photo ops, crafts, and a door prize. Tickets are $40 for adults and youth 16+, $5 for kids ages 5–15, and free for children 4 and under. Each adult ticket includes a gift bag with a $20 Met gift card and one complimentary beverage. Tickets must be picked up at Guest Services starting May 1 and are required for entry. Proceeds support Burnaby Family Life’s Women Driving Their Future program.

Vancouver International Children’s Festival

May 26-June 1, Granville Island

The Vancouver International Children’s Festival runs from May 26 to June 1 and is dedicated to inspiring young minds through world-class artistic experiences. With a focus on creativity, quality, and fun, the festival features live performances in theatre, dance, music, circus, and visual arts for children ages 6 months to 13 years. Rooted in both local and global perspectives, VICF celebrates cultural diversity, supports BC and Indigenous artists, and encourages families to play, explore, and imagine together in a vibrant, inclusive setting.

Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra

VYSO Celebrates 95 Years with a Special Anniversary Concert

The Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra (VYSO) marks its 95th anniversary with a spectacular concert on Saturday, May 18 at 2 PM at the Orpheum Theatre.

Showcasing all 280 young musicians across its four orchestras, the concert features music from How to Train Your Dragon, Bramwell Tovey’s Sky Chase, and Dvořák’s New World Symphony. Special guest Joanna G’froerer, VYSO alumna and Principal Flutist of the National Arts Centre Orchestra, will perform Otar Gordeli’s Flute Concerto.

Celebrate nearly a century of music education and youth talent at this one-of-a-kind event.

Polygon Gallery Kids First Saturday and Sunday *By Donation*

Saturday, May 3, 10am and Sunday, May 5, 2pm,  North Vancouver

Held on the first Saturday and Sunday of each month, Kids First offers the opportunity to create an in-house art project inspired by the current gallery exhibitions.

These projects are designed for children aged 5 to 12, but there is no age requirement to participate. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Don’t miss this chance to unleash your creativity and make art together as a family!

Saturday & Sunday May 3 & 4 2025, Croatian Cultural Centre, Vancouver

Just in time for Mother’s Day, Vancouver’s uber local craft fair returns to East Vancouver with 100 local makers, small shops and a Mini Makers Market with kidpreneurs under the age of 16 years old, food trucks, and legendary swag bags.
