Free Virtual Classes for the Under 5s from Gymboree Play & Music Vancouver!

Looking for ways to keep your under 5s occupied? In the pre-COVID days, indoor play spaces offered the perfect venue for active babies, toddlers and preschoolers. In fact, Gymboree Play & Music was set to open in Vancouver in April as the ideal spot to bring your littles for learning and fun. Sadly, their opening has been delayed due to the pandemic. However, they are offering virtual half-hour classes for your little ones to all their newsletter subscribers.

Their engaging virtual classes are led by educational specialists for babies, toddlers and preschoolers.

Gymboree Play & Music classes take place on Wednesdays and Fridays and cover a variety of activities for kids aged 0-5 from dancing and singing to story time and crafts. Here are some examples of the types of classes you can expect to experience.

Dancing: Learn some groovy tips for dancing at home with your little ones. This activity is perfect for all ages.

Making your own shaker: Fill a small container with dried beans, pasta, plastic beads, or even bits of balled-up foil to make your own musical shakers!

Storytime: Count and sing along as we’re introduced to the different baby animals living in the forest during a reading of Over in the Forest.

Handwashing: Teach little ones in an abstract way why it is important to wash your hands to keep yourself and others healthy.

Rainbow science: Watch how these watercolors travel from one jar to another and blend together to make new colours!

Singing: Try out these peek-a-boo songs the next time you play peek-a-boo with your baby. A colourful scarf adds a tactile experience to a classic game.

Indoor bicycle ride: Get onto your upside-down bikes by lying on your back and pedaling your feet in the air. Don’t forget to ring your bell, Ding-Ding! ,
