History comes to life at the Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site, located along the scenic waterfront boardwalk in Steveston Village. Explore the heritage homes and work places of the fishers, canners and boatbuilders that settled on the west coast during the height of the salmon fishing industry. Try out the Living History activities inspired by the diverse communities whose heritage is represented here, and meet our heritage interpreters who help share our stories, or join a guided tour. There is so much to see and do on this 8-acre site, both indoors and outdoors. Don’t forget to pick up a kids’ activity booklet some fun things to do during your visit – free for kids of all ages. And check out our special events throughout the year, including our summer highlight, the Richmond Maritime Festival on August 20 & 21, 2022. Admission is free!
