Beach day baby! Best Vancouver beaches

Can you say beach day? With weather like this, there’s nothing better than a day at the beach with the little ones. Just don’t forget to bring a bucket and shovel (or two).

The best Vancouver beaches
Kits Beach
Vancouver’s ‘It’ beach at Kits Point. One of Vancouver’s favourite beach spots for swimming, walking, people-watching, picnics, beach volleyball and watching the sunset. Boasts a popular modern playground.
Spanish Banks
A long, sandy stretch extends from Kits to UBC. Beloved beach for sun and sand play fun; tide goes way out into Burrard Inlet, allowing for long walks out to sea.
English Bay Beach
Downtown, urban beach that’s perfect for ocean swimming. Wide expanse of sand for sunbathing and swimming, with cafes, restaurants and shops next door on Denman Street. And let’s not forget the ocean slide!

Garry Point Park
A riverfront beach park in Steveston, Richmond. Dig in the sand, balance on logs and watch the container ships sail by. A popular spot for picnics, walks, biking and kite-flying.
Barnet Marine Park
Sandy beach park on Burrard Inlet in Burnaby. Enjoy beautiful views of the Inlet, a swimming beach, picnic facilities, and a launch for kayaks and canoes.
Second Beach
Inside Stanley Park adjacent to one of the jewels in the Vancouver outdoor pool system, Second Beach pool, this beach is close to all the things a family needs: a concession stand, washrooms and an expansive great playground.
