Leading Moms: Tracy Theemes on Being Good Enough
On October 3, 2012 VancouverMom.ca teamed up with our friends at Modern Mama and Entrepreneur Mom Now Vancouver to present Leading Moms. The day was full of inspiration, as we highlighted moms who are difference-makers in a variety of fields, from fashion to politics to business to the arts to science, and a whole lot more. We were treated to talks, videos, musical performances and a fashion show. We ate breakfast inside the H.R. MacMillan Science Centre, and we ate lunch outside in the sunshine. We were energized and motivated by the whole experience.

Tracy Theemes
In a previous career, Tracy Theemes spent 10 years in management with an international play equipment company. She founded, then sold, a specialty children’s furnishing company based in the US. She then became a financial advisor and worked with Smith Barney, a US brokerage firm, helping her to gain valuable international experience. She used that experience as co-founder of Sophia Financial Group in 2009. As a believer that “we are stronger together than apart”, Tracy regularly participates in activities and events to increase others’ financial literacy. Tracy is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute and a Certified Financial Planner, as well as a a Financial Divorce Specialist. At Leading Moms she shared insight on being good enough, and even broke out some rap.
