About instructor:
Kimiko Suzuki grew up in a small town near Osaka, Japan and moved to Vancouver 27 years ago.
My inspiration when I create moss art comes from places and times I spent in both Japan and Canada, from nearby forest where I explored with my friends and family whether chasing cicadas and beetles, fishing in a small creek or visiting beautiful gardens in temples and shrines in Kyoto with my mom after I left for university to live on my own. Beautiful pink cherry blossoms in Spring, deep green of leaves in Summer, changing colour leaves in Fall and snow on the mountains are all my sources of inspiration. I often go for “Shinrinyoku” Japanese forest bathing to Mosquito Creek nearby my house; smelling and soaking up the energy of green leaves, listening to the water flows and enjoying the moment of quietness are all of my most peaceful moments. Please join us to create your own beautiful moss art.
