Fresh Air Learning
Connecting children to nature through play and hands-on learning
Fresh Air Learning is a local charity that runs play-based, hands-on, nature/land-based programs for children ages 0-13 and supports educators through professional development and mentorship. Our programs takes place on the homelands and unceded, unsurrendered territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), and səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) territories. We are committed to a process of reconciliation and decolonization.
Our Story & Values:
We believe that children need lots of time to play outdoors. We currently work to bring nature connection programs to children ages 0 to 13 in the Metro Vancouver area, but our vision extends far beyond that, to a future in which children of all ages play, learn, and create freely in their neighbourhoods. We envision children and adults working together to connect with and become stewards of the places where they live, and we look forward to a future in which all forms of learning turn to natural places as some of a child’s most important teachers. At Fresh Air Learning, we strive to create programs that are inclusive, welcome a diversity of children and families, and respect people and place.
