ABOUT THE SHOW

Pele is VERY upset with the visitors coming to her Islands and has decided they must stop! Her sisters are trying very hard to convince her that ALOHA is needed all over the world. This happens to coincide with Joan and her families dream Hawaiian Vacation. Joan wants to enjoy the beach, while her husband wants to tick off every possible thing they can do, while each of the children have some issues of their own! Pele gives her sisters one chance! Choose a family that will show ALOHA is needed!….They choose Joan’s!

A NOTE FROM DIRECTOR, MANDY TULLOCH

To be able to bring this production to life is a dream come true for me. We presented it first in 2010 and feel the time is right in our world to bring back some much needed Aloha! I love Hawaii and the Hawaiian culture. I have been involved with Hawaii for many years, and have belonged to the Hawaiian Visitors and Convention bureau for quite some time as a Hawaiian specialist. There are some parts of my own life in this production as I too have honeymooned in Hawaii! Hawaii is so much more than a destination; it has a beautiful rich history, filled with wonderful stories, along with flora and fauna found nowhere else in the world. Our entire cast (along with their families!) have learned the Hawaiian alphabet and may I add some hula!

My attempt is to bring some of these myths and legends to the young and mature alike. Once again bringing the music, art, dance, martial arts and overall flavour of another culture to enrich our understanding and open our hearts. From our Ohana to yours!
